2017-18 School Year Parent Tours
The application window for magnet schools is Monday, November 4, 2016 – January 20, 2017.
Please call the school office between the hours of 9:00AM and 1:00PM
(918-925-1500) to schedule your tour. Tours are for adults only and last approximately 1 hour.
Lottery Schools Entrance Requirements and Regulations
All applicants are required to attend one of the scheduled tours provided by Mayo. At the end of the tour, the participant must obtain a letter, signed by the principal, documenting participation in the tour. This letter must accompany the application. Applications submitted without the letter will not be processed. Tours are for adults only and will be conducted on the dates listed below:

All applications are due at the Tulsa Public Schools Enrollment Center, 2819 South New Haven by the third Friday in January. All applications must be submitted on or before the due date. Incomplete applications will not be considered. Parents/guardians will be required to sign an assurance that the application is complete. Parents of students who accept placement at a Lottery School are required to make a commitment to remain at that school for the duration of the grade levels served by the school. Students will not be eligible for a transfer to another Lottery school serving the same grade levels. Students who wish to leave a lottery school after accepting placement may return to their home school or apply for a transfer to another neighborhood school.
Mayo Demonstration School represents a cross-section of the Tulsa Public School District. Mayo is designed for students pre-kindergarten through grade five. Enrollment at Mayo is based on open, district-wide, random lottery process, and administrative prerogative. Monroe and Thoreau have progressive enrollment for students from Mayo, Zarrow, Eisenhower, and Dual Language Immersion who apply by the deadline and do not apply to Carver or Edison as their first choice. Students who apply after the transfer deadline will not take part in the lottery.
Lottery
The lottery for Mayo will be held on February 9, 2017 at 6:00PM at Thoreau Demonstration Academy.
Mayo’s drawing is for Pre-K four year olds only. Students must be four years old on or before September 1st. Students applying by the deadline will be placed in the lottery drawing. There will be one drawing for each quadrant.
Students applying for Kindergarten-fifth grade will be filled at the principal’s discretion, if space becomes available.
Sibling preference for Pre-K is granted to current students only. Please note: If a Pre-K student is selected in the lottery, older siblings do not have preference for admission. Again, Kindergarten – fifth grade applications are only accepted if space becomes available.
Each year, Mayo accepts approximately 60 new PK students—fifteen students from each of the four quadrants listed below. Prior to the lottery, siblings of current students will be placed first. The lottery will fill any remaining slots in that quadrant.
